EMMA

& the Wild and Gentle Celt
- A Tasmanian Love Story

"My original inspiration for this story was a tiny fragment of china with the name Emma on it, that I dug from my garden in Tasmania at the age of 14. I believe the fragment was part of a cup - the rest is a mystery that my imagination has tried to solve over the years. Emma's story has come to me in words and images over the course of many years, and has inspired many of my original paintings, drawings and photography which are included in this book.

Little did I know that it would evolve in the most synchronistic and mysterious ways. Truth became stranger that fiction when an old piece of china and the serendipitious appearance of a grave side photograph from Gallipoli merged to form a potpourri of images and words. The result - more than just a book - Emmma & the Wild and Gentle Celt is an experience of the soul." Purchase Book

Emma sat by her window He returned from the crags, but I was gone
Who are you gentle soldier At night I send my love in airborne silence
